How does my freight get to Alaska?
XPO moves all freight through the Tacoma, Washington seaport. At this gateway, cargo is loaded into secure ocean containers and transported via sea to the Alaska destination seaport. There, shipments are removed from the containers and loaded for delivery to the consignee.

Can I ship Hazmat freight to Alaska?
Yes, Hazmat freight can travel to Alaska. It is subject to Hazmat material shipping requirements. For air points, the color copy of the shipper's declaration of dangerous goods is required. For direct points, the freight must be labeled with the proper signage and include paperwork in compliance with Ocean DOT regulations. Check with your local Service Center for additional details.
How long will it take for my freight to be delivered?
On average, eight to ten days transit time can be expected. Air point transit is extended depending on the location.
What paperwork do I need to ship to Alaska?
You will need a bill of lading (BOL) in order to ship to Alaska. Please be sure to include the name and telephone number for the consignee.
Are there size constraints for shipments to fit in a container?
The maximum dimensions for a shipment to fit in a container are 98.5 inches width and 99.5 inches height.
Can I ship from Alaska to the continental U.S.?

Is there freeze protection available for my shipment?
Yes. Freeze protection is available during certain times of the year. Your paperwork must be notated properly.
